Food & Drink:
• It's hard to be hungry in Vietnam - there's healthy/delicious food everywhere. The Vietnamese love to snack and its common to see sellers on every corner offering corn-on-the-cob, skewered meats, fresh fruit or handmade sandwiches.
• For those who want to step outside of what's within most travelers' comfort level, try some exotic/extreme foods - Dan can set you up. You can try eel, chicken feet, snails, intestine, congealed blood, frog, or the equally coveted/feared hot vit lon (a different kind of boiled-egg experience).
• Vietnam is a meat-eater's paradise, so be prepared to see flesh on offer everywhere, whether you eat it or not. Vegetarian options are available and Dan can assist in finding meatless fare, but If your vegetarian/vegan/allergy/religious diet requires that your food be prepared without meat or other certain foods in the vicinity, please consider a different trip as this is nearly impossible to accommodate in Vietnam and Cambodia.
• Drinking water comes bottled; we won't be drinking the tap water (yet its fine for washing). We'll be recycling all our bottles...or...GREEN TIP: bring a bottle from home and refill it at breakfast each morning - the hotel will have clean water at the buffet for guests.
• PRO TIP: If you're not skilled at using chopsticks, practice up before departure!
